Materials & finishes.

Specialized experience with 17-4 PH and 15-5 PH stainless, plus broader machining across stainless and alloy steels, aluminum, engineering plastics and specialty alloys.

Materials and manufacturing processes

Our focus is 17-4 PH and 15-5 PH stainless, alongside other metals and engineering plastics. Material condition and part geometry determine the suitable process.

PH stainless

State the specified 17-4 PH or 15-5 PH grade and incoming condition. Bring any required condition change into the machining scope.

Other machinable materials

Identify the specified metal, engineering plastic or specialty alloy and its condition. Suitability is reviewed against the part requirements.

Supplied stock and alternatives

Agree whether stock is supplied or sourced for the order. Any proposed substitute requires the responsible authority's approval.

Material and process documentation

Define the starting point

Identify the current part revision, specified material and condition, stock responsibility, and quantity for this order.

Plan the operations

Connect machining, any specified condition change and finishing needs. Sheet-metal, additive or related outside work may be coordinated within an agreed project or referred to an independent supplier. The quotation identifies who handles each operation.

Material records
Agree the required material identity, condition and traceability records. A grade name alone is not the supporting record.

Process records
Define which heat-treatment or finish records are required and who provides them. Listing an operation does not show that it was completed.
Dimensional records
Agree the finished-part checks and reporting scope. Material certification does not replace the specified dimensional review.

Controlled or sensitive work? Read the handling guidance first.

Material and process reference

Stock may be supplied or sourced for the order. Material substitutions require approval. Surface finish, protected areas and required checks are identified with the part.

Function and appearance

Distinguish functional surface requirements from appearance, and identify the acceptance criteria for each.

Surfaces to protect

Identify mating areas, masked surfaces and treated regions within the same component.

Specification and acceptance

Name the governing finish requirement and agree the checks and supporting records.
